Chris Chianelli is creative director for Megatech International, a leading manufacturer of radio control (RC) airplanes, land vehicles, boats and engines. Prior to joining Megatech, Chris spent 18 years in the industry's top-rated RC magazines as the internationally read author of pieces on topics that included giant scale, parkflyers, race boats, cars, trucks and engine performance evaluations. Currently Chris writes for Hobby Merchandiser magazine, the premier industry publication for the world's hobby shops and specialty stores. Chris began modeling with trains and slot cars (in his single-digit years) and has been totally enamored of any and all kinds of modeling throughout his life. As a result, he has remained something of a kid even to this day.
Chris purchased his first radio, a very used MRC 710 aircraft radio, back in 1971 and has been chronically infected by the RC bug ever since. As he puts it, "Ever since that fateful purchase, I've never had a boring moment in my life. So many models, so little time."
When Chris isn't in his workshop, at the flying field doing aerobatics or in his office, he can be seen tooling around town in his trademark Series III red Excalibur with his wife, Julie, and his faithful dog, Sophie.
Chris' philosophy? "This hobby is all about having fun." And he's here to make sure that's exactly what you get. Chris brings his expertise and special brand of off-the-wall humor to DIY Network's Radio Control Hobbies, RC Top Gun, Workin' on the Railroad, Holiday Workshop and Robot Rivals.
