Tim Hockenberry has been a professional home inspector for more than 12 years and in that time has inspected more than 6,000 houses. Since 2001, he has been the featured resident home inspector on Home & Garden Television's House Detective series, hosting more than 200 on-air segments of his "Inspector's Notebook," which offers tips in home repair and maintenance.Tim honed his knowledge of what makes a house tick from the ground up-by building them. Prior to becoming a home inspector, he worked in new home construction, renovation, and demolition.
Tim was trained in mechanics in the United States Marine Corps and there he sharpened his innate skills in taking things apart to figure out how they work, and how to fix them. Tim lives with his wife and three children outside Washington, DC, where he is most likely at this very moment dismantling a persnickety dishwasher or uncooperative vacuum cleaner!
