With a background in design, graphics, metal arts and leather work, Jenifer Nakatsu Arntson of JNA Designs produces quality hand-built vinyl goods such as handbags, wallets, checkbooks and accessories. Her materials are animal-friendly and her finished products are stylish and modern. Look for updates in the line incorporating more fabric, knitted goodies and baby-friendly wares coming soon!

After working in leather for many years, Jen has switched to working entirely in vinyl but approaches design and construction with the same attention to detail, quality and function she learned when apprenticing to master-level leather craftsmen and metalsmiths. She is now an Austin-based artisan but has lived in Kyoto, St. Paul/Minneapolis and Tokyo.

"Making things is my way of sharing joy with others. I started in accessories because I needed a handbag and never found what I wanted from stores, especially well-made, non-leather items. I build my bags the way I do because I hate to do repairs! Vinyl comes in such great colors and finishes and is an affordable and appealing material to work with."

Jen's work is available in Austin, San Francisco and New York boutiques, but you can catch Jen and her fabulous vinyl projects on DIY Network's Stylelicious!
