DIY Network's co-host of Resto Rides, Christie D'Amore, is a Malibu native and spent her childhood elbow deep in the hood of her father's '65 Chevelle while her sisters were playing with Barbie dolls. She rolled up her sleeves, slicked back her hair and rocked out to "Greased Lightning" in junior high and at 16, hit the open road in her '64 cherry red Mustang convertible. A true greaser at heart, Christie has straddled a Harley Heritage, repaired your mom's carburetor and taken you home in her '63 Chevy Fleetside Shortbed—all in a day's work.Her '63 Chevy Fleetside Shortbed is restored with a black finish and a white top with white stripes on the doors. The seats were done in Mercedes vinyl and suede along with the armrests. All inside paint was matched with the exterior. She C-notched the frame in order for it to sit lower on stock 15" 6 lug truck wheels powder coated white. To finish it off, she installed a top-of-the-line Alpine head unit with flip-up face and pro series 6" door speakers with tweeters.
