  • Painting, Driveway and Walkways, and Messy Jobs
  • From "Talk2DIY Home Improvement"
    episode TTD-246F
    advertisement

    Topics covered on today's episode:

Sanding and repainting a front door

Repairing and repainting the first layer of drywall

    The color of Talk2DIY's set

    Why white paint turns yellow

What is street printing (imprinted concrete)?

    Explanation of hydration

Laying bricks over a cracking driveway

    Stripping paint off hardwood

Cleaning grease build-up off kitchen cabinets

Keeping dogs from tracking dust and dirt inside the house

    Cleaning marble

    Making a book-safe

    Tips:

    • Your roller cover will last longer if every now and then you reverse it on the roller frame.

    • Take a hammer and nails and punch holes into the slot where your paint can's lid fits. Any paint that begins to fill the slot will drain through those holes and minimize mess.

    • Plan a weekend for driveway repairs. Most asphalt repairs require 24 hours' drying time before they can be seal-coated.

    • Dirt, gravel and concrete are heavy. Avoid overexertion, and avoid working in extreme heat.

    • It won't quiet a fussy baby, but you can use baby oil to remove paint splatters from your hair.
