Romantic Votive Holders- The first thing you need to do is make a template of your container. Place a piece of tape half way down one side of the container. This tells you where to start and stop.
- Lay the container on the paper and draw a line around it -- leaving an extra inch all around. Roll the container as you draw the line around (figure A) and then end at the piece of tape.
- Cut the template out and then place it on your artistic paper and cut the pattern out.
- Paint Modge Podge over the entire juice glass with a foam brush.
- Place the artistic paper around the glass leaving 1" at the top and bottom. Use your fingers to smooth it out, making sure to remove any air bubbles. Let this dry for approximately an hour. It is okay if the glue seeps through a little because it will dry clear.
Tip: It is a good idea to keep a wet washcloth handy when working with glue. - Use small scissors to trim the edges from the top and bottom of the glass (figure B).
- Trim your clip art image out and apply to the front of the glass with Modge Podge.
- For your finishing touch, use the gold Pilot marker and paint around the rim of the glass (figure C).
