Tips: - Allow flooring adhesives to set for at least 24 hours before moving any heavy objects across your new floor.
- The easy way to remove carpet is to cut it into 4' sections before you roll it up. It's much easier to handle and comes up from the tack strip readily.
- If you heat vinyl tiles to make cutting them easier, be sure to let them cool fully before installation. Vinyl expands when heated and installing warm tile can cause gaps when the tile cools.
- A paint roller cover cut into sections makes a great stain applicator. Wear a disposable glove and throw out the whole mess when you're through.
- A plastic file organizer is the perfect storage solution for organizing your sandpaper. Label the dividers with various grits and you'll easily find what you need.
- Stain-soaked rags are a serious fire hazard. Always lay them flat to dry in a ventilated area and never dispose of them until they are dry and stiff.
