Craft expert Kathy Peterson shares a method for creating a lamp with a "Tiffany" look. Materials: Stained-glass pattern Liquid lead Clear plastic sheets Simulated stained-glass paints Nut pick Plastic lampshade
- Cover pattern with plastic sheet and trace the design with liquid lead (figure A), taking care not to allow the paint-applicator tip to touch the plastic.
- Allow paint to dry. The edging will become hard.
- Fill panels with paint (figure B), making sure each color touches the leading.
- Add accents as desired, then use a pick or "comb" to smooth the paint in each panel (figure C).
- Allow to dry.
- Lift design away from plastic and adhere to plastic lampshade (figure D).
- Use liquid leading to draw straight lines. Allow lines to dry, then lift and adhere to lamp, joining the designs and creating a "stained-glass" appearance (figure E).
