Opening out over the great room and situated between the two upstairs bedroom suites, the loft provides another open and airy space that's ideal for relaxing. It features the same beautiful, expansive lake views as the great room, and it gives enough floor space to accommodate a grouping of overstuffed chairs and sofa. It's an ideal space for casual entertaining, enjoying a good book or simply getting away from it all. Boyles Furniture provided the sectional seating, foot-pampering area rug and decorative accessories, all in keeping with the lakeside-retreat motif. As with most of the spaces in Blog Cabin, the decorative interior choices were those of interior design specialist Amanda Teeter. Amanda's selections for the rooms throughout the cabin create an overall consistency in look and feel. The designer's choices for this upstairs space include a modified taupe and gray sectional sofa accented with coral upholstered chairs and black occasional pieces. Accessories include a glass-top cocktail table, oil-rubbed brass floor lamp and a brass-finish telescope for getting a closer look at lake wildlife or water-sports enthusiasts. For an added and particularly distinctive touch, Karl Champley, host of DIY's Wasted Spaces, fashioned hideaway floor compartments to store games, blankets or other items and keep them out of sight.
