The upstairs guest bedroom features teak hardwood floors, lots of storage space and a handmade console that conceals a pop-up, flat-screen TV. The custom TV console was created by Jimmy DiResta, host of DIY's Hammered, along with help from Blog Cabin specialist Simon Hodshon. With the touch of a remote-control button, the flat-screen TV rises out of the console. Touch the remote again, and the TV vanishes back into the cabinet. The piece's exterior was fashioned to visually match the design of the decorative wood screen placed in front of the bedroom window. Other accessories include the Nepal Bell Flower area rug, Aspen-style bed and black bedside chest. Amanda Teeter of Boyles Furniture selected sophisticated and cool-hued bedroom furniture for this room along with a placid silvery-gray paint color, Evening Shadow. The hand-scraped hardwood floors help ground the room with earthy elegance. View the tallied results from the Blog Cabin voting. View a slide show of this room.
