The second upstairs bedroom features a nautical theme designed to appeal to the young and young-at-heart. As with all the bedrooms in the Blog Cabin, this one takes full advantage of the lake views, and this space was specially outfitted as both a sleep quarters and fanciful getaway for kids.

The focal piece, created by Jimmy DiResta of DIY's Hammered, is a cleverly designed, custom-built trundle bed shaped like a wooden boat. The mattress fits in a cut-out section in the "deck" of the wood dinghy, and boat cleats double as drawer-pull hardware for the lower trundle bed.

Colorful, rustic chests and bedside tables, bedding and special touches by Boyles accentuate the room's fun nautical feel. Accessories and furnishings include a coral-colored sideboard chest, model sailboat wall hanging, boat-print bed linens and a fishy framed print.

Other distinctive accents include grommet curtains hanging on rope rods, boat-cleat curtain tiebacks and a custom paint motif by local artist Tina Gibson.

The hardwood teak floors and the cool hues of gray Evening Shadow on the walls from Sherwin-Williams' No Place Like Home collection are vote-winning selections featured throughout the upstairs bedrooms.
