The bath adjoining the kids' bedroom features a tub/shower combo and a custom-made vanity. The vanity shines as the showpiece in this bathroom and is fashioned from an antique cabinet retrofitted with a porcelain sink and darkened bronze fixtures.

The online voters chose a "decorative ornate" motif for the upstairs baths (the guest bath and one off the kids' room) but to mesh them both with the "lakeside Zen" theme of the downstairs master bath, DIY host Amy Matthews chose comfy cork flooring by Lumber Liquidators for both, helping to create a nature-oriented look and relaxed feel in these rooms.

Cork flooring is comfortable and safer than hardwood for youngsters because its cushiony texture acts as a natural shock absorber. It's also considered an environmentally responsible choice because cork is regarded as a renewable resource and can be grown and harvested using sustainable practices.

As in the other upstairs bath, exposed-beam construction, open vaulted ceilings and natural wood surfaces accentuate the room's tranquil ambiance.

The tub/shower combo by Kohler actually represents one of the modifications from the features of the original floor plans. The simple shower stall originally planned for this bath was replaced by this tub/shower unit.

To create the showpiece bathroom vanity, Amy found an old Victor RCA cabinet at a yard sale and outfitted it with a gorgeous Kohler sink. The beautiful and distinctive piece, with its oil-rubbed bronze fixtures chosen by the online voters, helps complete the decorative, ornate look for this very special bath.
