    Installing Vertical and Horizontal Tracks

    1. The most important thing to remember is to level the track to the door, not the floor.

    2. Slide the first vertical track over the roller (figure A). The distance from the top of the door to the top of the track needs to be the same on both sides.

    3. Fasten any remaining lag screws.

    4. Make sure the space in between the door and the track is uniform, about a 1/2".

    5. Use a shim behind the hammer when pulling the nails out to prevent damaging or marking up the door.

    6. The horizontal track lines right up with the vertical track. The bolts hold the two tracks together (figure B).

    7. Once the tracks are up, level the track to the bracket.

    8. Mount the back of the horizontal bracket to the rear mounting bracket. Level this and bolt it into place.

    9. When installing the torsion spring, slide it through the baring plate (figure C). Anchor the center support bracket to the 2 X 6 to hold the torsion bar in place (figure D).

    10. The drum slides right on the torsion bar (figure E). Attach the cable to the drum (figure F). Hook right on the notch, then start winding the drum until the cable is snug, and tighten the set screws (figure G).

    11. The drums are cast aluminum so don’t over tighten the set screws or you might crack the drum.

    12. Using the winding bars, tighten the spring to the specified tension (figure H).
