Adding the Panels and Hanging the Light

    1. Wipe down each panel before dropping into place (figure A).

    2. When installing the panels, make sure to position them so the wood grain runs the same way (figure B).

    3. If needed, cut the perimeter panels to size.

    4. They pop right into place like acoustical ceiling tiles.

    5. FYI: Switching out the panels with a different type of wood can transform the look of your ceiling without structurally changing anything.

    6. If you need to install a light, take appropriate measurements and transfer those measurements using a square onto the back of the panel (figure C).

    7. Use a spade bit to drill the hole (figure D).

    8. Drill through the backside just until you break the surface. Flip it over and drill all the way through. This will prevent a blow out on the finished side.

    9. Use an extension rod if the light fixture is too heavy to install onto the panel itself. Hook up electrical and hang from the inner ceiling.
