With the exception of the landscaping, the Oberg home is finally finished (figure A) and it's time for our homeowners (Brad and Lynn Oberg) to have one last walk-through with their site supervisor -- Greg Allen.

The Final Walk-Through Problems

Note: Anything that Brad and Lynn see that needs to be addressed will be added to a list that Allen provided, and he will make all the calls to get the corrections made.

• Brad found a huge texture change in the ceiling of one of the bathrooms (figure B -- note the texture on the right and basically none on the left).

• Lynn found paint-splatter bumps in different spots throughout the house. Allen says a light sanding and touchup job will take care of those.

• Brad found that two gutter corners (figure C) were leaking.

• In one spot on the staircase the carpeting wasn't tucked down enough -- easy fix.

• Two bulbs under the cabinets in the kitchen flicker.

• In the entranceway to the home, both Brad and Lynn discover problems. Brad sees an indentation with one of the marble pieces in the floor, and Lynn sees a black mark (figure D) in one. Allen explains that this is extremely soft marble and the only way to correct the flaws is to "start smashing things with a hammer." He says there's no clean way to ever replace a tile.

  Our homeowners decide to hold off making any decision concerning the tiles until a later date.
