    1. Weekend Entertaining host Jeanne Benedict drew a sketch of the buffet table and decorating ideas (figure A). There are plenty of ideas for an old-fashioned bar-b-que party. Benedict went with a denim and diamonds theme and used that theme throughout the courtyard. The buffet is a mixture of rustic and refined.

    2. Glue rhinestones to the horseshoes.

    3. Use a hot glue gun to attach the western motif items to the jean pockets (figure B).

    4. Using a hot glue gun, glue the embellished pockets to the denim fabric (figure C).

    5. Put the Gerber daisies into floral picks. Place colorful bandannas, a Gerber daisy and some bear grass into each pocket (figure D). The large piece of denim will go over your tablecloth and the pockets will hang down over the front of the table.

    6. You can find foam hitching posts at an Arts and Craft store. We used one by the buffet table and added more Gerber daisies and some zinnias to it (figure E).

    7. Turn a half barrel over on its side and accent it with rhinestones around the rim. You can use a piece of rustic old wood and put the hosts' name on it with puffy paint and nail it across the top of the barrel (figure F).

    8. Put a flat of wheat grass on the inside of the barrel and accent it with flowers in the grass (figure G). Wrap floral wire around the flowers so that they will would stand up in the grass; therefore creating the look of a meadow.

    9. For your buffet, you can place a couple of mini hay bales on the table. You can place the tray of ribs on one and tray of corn on the other.

Expert Tip: Jorge Lopez, Entertainment Expert for Chyron, says that when looking for props or decorations for your party a good idea is to check your local newspaper and go to garage sales. Also, lots of times discount stores will have decorations on sale.
