A window crowned with a cornice made of two lengths of flexible metal dryer hose looks great in a room with industrial decor.

A dryer-vent cornice is a perfect window treatment for an industrial-decor room. Flexible metal dryer hose, about $5 for an 8' piece, can be found a your local home store. Use one, two or three lengths of dryer hose, as desired, to make the cornice proportionate to the window.

    Materials:

    Flexible metal dryer hose
    Curtain rod
    Screwdriver

    1. Install curtain-rod hardware at the top of the window.

    2. Run the curtain rod through a length of dryer hose. Stretch or compress the dryer hose to match the length of the curtain rod.

    3. Attach the curtain rod to fittings at the top of the window.
