Cats love to look out windows. Follow these instructions to give your feline friend a carpeted seat. Materials: 3" L brackets 8" shelf brackets Screwdriver Short wood screws Carpet Staple gun and staples Small felt shelving pads Safety glasses - Use screws to attach small L brackets to one end of a square piece of scrap plywood (figure A). The L brackets will fit under a sliding window.
- Wrap carpet around the plywood, and staple it in place (figure B).
- Bend the ends of two shelving brackets, about 1/2" away from the tips. Bend one end toward the inside angle and the other end away from it (figure C).
- Set the board in the window, and mark the placement for the shelving brackets. The brackets will hold the platform level. Attach the ends that are bent toward the inside angle to the carpeted board (figure D). Make sure the screws don't extend all the way through the board.
- Finally, stick some shelving pads on the ends that touch the wall to prevent the brackets from scratching it.
