In this close-up of the floral lampshade, it's hard to tell whether the flowers are real or silk.

    Materials:

    Lamp with a flat shade
    Silk flowers
    Wire cutters
    Glue gun

    1. Clip flower off its stem.

    2. Because the stem is no longer holding the flower together, now all the different layers of the flower will need to be glued together.

    3. Gently pull the first layer of the flower apart from the second layer.

    4. Stick the end of the glue gun into the space just created and apply a dab of glue. Press the flower back together.

    5. Repeat this process for all the other layers.

    6. Put an ample amount of glue on the back of the flower and press it firmly onto the lampshade.

    7. Repeat this process for as many flowers as you need to cover the lampshade.

Products: Stores such as Target or K-Mart have inexpensive lamps that will work with this project. The glue gun and silk flowers can be purchased at most craft stores.
