Make a unique occasional table from water bottles topped with glass (figure A). Artist Rosemary Watson shows how. Materials:
Nineteen 1-1/2-liter water bottles Silver electrical cord Turpentine Optional: food coloring Round piece of heavy-duty glass for tabletop - Remove the labels from the water bottles. Use turpentine to remove any gummy residue left on the bottles.
- Arrange the bottles on the floor, nestling them together in five rows to form a hexagon-shaped table base.
- Tie a piece of silver electrical cord around the bottles to hold them in place. Cut the plastic off the ends of the cord in order to tie a nice tight knot.
- Add food coloring to the bottles, if desired. Replace the bottle caps.
- Set a piece of round glass on the bottles to make a table.
