Materials:antibacterial soap lemon and kosher salt mineral oil plastic cutting board nylon scrubber vinegar or bleach/water Cleaning Plastic Cutting Boards - There is still some debate over whether or not plastic cutting boards are better for cutting meat and poultry. The bottom lineyou still need to clean it properly.
- Use hot soapy water and a nylon scrub brush after each use.
- Rinse and let dry.
- Many of today's plastic cutting boards can go in the dishwasher.
- Every two weeks, take the time to really sanitize your plastic cutting board with a diluted bleach or vinegar solution consisting of one part bleach, one part vinegar and two parts water.
- Flood the surface and allow it to stand for several minutes, before rinsing.
