    • Plastic wrap's number one job is always going to be to wrap up your leftovers, but there are other uses. Use plastic wrap as a package handle. You pull it out of the box and twist it into a rope. You can do this with packages or even your newspapers that you need to recycle. It is strong and sturdy.

    • If you don't have bubble wrap, you can make your own packing material. It is just a few pops away. Popcorn is a great substitute. Not only will it be a fun treat for the recipient, but it really does work as cushioning. Just make sure you cover whatever it is you are sending in a plastic bag or some kind of protection and use unbuttered popcorn for this job.

    • A great way to store your bracelets and necklaces is to use over the door hangers (figure A). Just put the hanger over the back of your bedroom or closet door. Plastic ice cube trays are also great for storing jewelry.

    • For earrings, place embroidery hoops over a piece of screen mesh and place earrings in the mesh (figure B). Trim the excess off the wire. You can even tie a beautiful ribbon at the top of the hoop.

    • A great way to recycle a tissue box is to use it to stuff the plastic grocery bags that you get from the supermarket. You will be amazed at how many little bags can fit into a tissue box and the box will fit easily in a kitchen drawer. A paper towel will also hold a lot.

    • Reuse your baby food jars. You ca use them to store nails or screws. They are the perfect size for those kinds of items that are so little that you can easily lose track of them like buttons. If you don't have any babies in the sight, use condiment jars like mustard or jelly. They are a bit bigger but might be able to hold larger nails.

    • Use buttons as a substitute for game pieces. Game pieces are easy to lose, but a button can do a great job if filling in for a lost piece.
