Shown: Mango Moon Bali Sky recycled viscose

Waste not, want not: fabric scraps find a purpose.

Yarn-making provides a living for women and girls in many Third World countries, including Nepal, where leftover fabric from the creation of saris is hand-spun into brilliant jewel-toned yarn.

Although many of the fibers used are of pure silk, similar vegan (animal-free) versions are also made from cotton, rayon and viscose (tree cellulose) fibers. The swatch shown is knitted from recycled viscose fibers.
