Here we go eat the mulberry bush! Silkworms eat the leaves of mulberry trees; in fact, it takes 30,000 silkworms consuming a ton of leaves to produce approximately 12 pounds of raw silk. Because fresh mulberry leaves aren't always available, however, worms can be fed successfully with a powdered concentrate made from you guessed it mulberry leaves.
