Sometimes the imperfection of a handcrafted technique is ideal for a quaint scrapbook page -- like "Life is a Bowl of Cherries" -- shown here.

    Figure C

Use Michele Gerbrandt's finger stamping technique to create a bowl of luscious cherries that looks good enough to eat.

    Materials:

    Acid-free paper paint
    Plastic cup to hold paint
    Paper for stamping
    Coordinating paper to make bowl
    Pen
    Circle cutter or template
    Scissors
    Paper towels
    Acid-free adhesive

    1. Pour small amount of paint into plastic cup. Add a few drops of water to thin paint.

    2. Using the flat pad of your index finger, dab finger into paint, then dab onto paper. Dab in the desired "bowl of cherries" pattern (figure A). When finished, set paper aside to dry.

    3. Cut circle from coordinating paper. Draw a concave line across the middle of the circle (figure B) and cut out with scissors to form the bowl.

    4. When the paint has dried, use pen to add "cherry stems". Adhere bowl under the stamped image to complete (figure C).
