Designer Mark Foley shares a product that can salvage stuck-on photos and stickers. - Un-du is acid-free, lignin-free and photo-safe. This product, and others like it, work to release adhesive bonds. Drying in only seconds, a photo or sticker (figure A) can be re-used after removal. However, it's important to remember that it can only release adhesive bonds, not something that has been affixed with glue.
- For most effective removal, press container to release liquid continuously during the scraping process. During the removal of photographs from magnetic albums (figure B), slow removal is crucial. Allow the product ample time to release the bond, instead of prying (and possibly damaging) the photo.
- Un-du is an effective cleaner -- removing sticky residue from scrapbooking supplies (figure C).
