A circular wreath isn't your only option. In this example, a square frame has been used to accentuate the profile of the sleeping baby.

One of the most exciting aspects of any hobby is the opportunity to enhance your projects using cutting-edge gadgets and cool tools. Scrapbooking is no exception. Here, host Sandi Genovese demonstrates one of the latest products that can add pizzazz to your pages -- a personal die-cut machine!

Instructions and templates may be viewed by using

    Materials:

    Self-adhesive paper
Background paper in color of choice
Die-cut shapes in assorted colors (on self-adhesive paper)
Craft knife and large round object (such as a plate) for tracing wreath

    • When creating the wreath's base, trace around a plate, canister or other object to create a perfectly round shape.

    • A die-cut machine can be used to cut shapes that will embellish the wreath. All shapes, however, can be cut by hand using a craft knife and stencil or template. Alternately, the die-cut machine at your local scrapbooking store can often be used at no cost with the purchase of paper.

    • Use scrapbooking tools to texturize die-cuts and create dimension. A small-diameter hole punch is used on the "Flower Power" page to create dots on the daisy's center and spots on the lady bug die-cuts.

Die-cuts/templates provided by Ellison Craft & Design. For more information about Ellison, see Resources.
