Keep track of screws, nuts and washers by attaching jars under your shelves (figure A). Just screw lids to the underside of the shelf, and attach jars to the lids. To store an extension cord, cut a hole in the bottom of 5-gallon bucket, and thread the male end of the cord through the hole from inside the bucket (figure B). That way, you can plug in the cord from the bucket and pull out only as much cord as you need. If you don't want to wear a heavy tool belt when you're working, wrap the tool belt around a bucket (figure C). Then you can carry it around without its getting in your way. Don't throw out a cracked ice tray. It can be useful for holding nuts, bolts and washers (figure D) or for holding parts in sequence when you dismantle equipment.
