    Tips:

    • Drilling a 1/4-inch vent hole about six inches from the bottom of your garbage can will equalize pressure and allow you to remove the trash liner without having to fight the vacuum effect.

    • Hang on to those old dresser drawers. By attaching small casters to their bottoms, you can create convenient under-the-bed storage bins.

    • Cut this tie-down from the top of an antifreeze jug and grab hold of that plastic tarp wherever you want.

    • Expanding foam is great for a lot of home projects, but be sure to use the minimal-expanding type around windows and doors. Other kinds could warp the frames and seal them shut for good!

    • Rope caulk is just right for sealing around utility entry points. Just pull off a section and press it into place.

    • Don't let your attic hatch be the weak link in your insulation system. Be sure to insulate it on top and apply weather stripping at the edges for a tight seal.
