Kitty Bartholomew, host of HGTV's Kitty Bartholomew: You're Home, offers tips for buying and making storage units to keep your home and hobbies in order.

Plenty of storage containers are available. Before you buy, think about your needs and preferences -- what you want to store and what features are important to you. Some containers are clear, making it easy to spot what's inside. Some have attached tops and/or handles; others have special features suited to the type of items stored inside.

Make a customized box for holding rolls of wrapping paper with foam-board dividers added to a tall cardboard box. Cover the cardboard and foam board with decorative vinyl if desired.
