    Steps:

    1. On the right side of one piece of the 4-1/2" x 9" fabric, position the vine border stencil as desired. Use a 1/4-inch stencil brush (figure A) to apply jungle green paint crème (figure B).

    2. Use another 1/4-inch stencil brush to accent the vine with dark hunter green paint crème. Remove stencil.

    3. Position one of the Asian symbols from the Asian stencil as desired. Use a 3/8-inch stencil brush to apply black acrylic paint. Pour a small amount of paint onto a paper plate, dip brush, stencil most of paint off on paper towel, and then apply paint sparingly in stippling motion over stencil. Remove stencil.

    4. Reposition stencil to repeat process for an additional Asian symbol (figure C).

    5. Pour a small amount of black paint onto paper plate. With wedge sponge, load paint onto flat side, tapping excess paint off on paper plate (figure D). Pat paint onto foam stamp and stamp onto fabric as desired (figure E).

    6. Heat set all paints by ironing on reverse side.

    7. Position the butterfly iron-on transfer at desired location on purse front. Iron transfer in place, allowing paper to cool completely before removing (figure F).

    8. Pin right sides of 4-1/2" x 9" fabric together.

    9. Insert bead trim at bottom of purse (figure G) and stitch all layers together, using a half-inch seam allowance.

    10. Stitch sides together with a half-inch seam allowance and turn inside out. Baste bead trim at top circumference of purse and set aside.

    11. Fold the 8" x 19" fabric in half with right sides together and stitch sides closed. This is the purse lining.

    12. Insert the purse lining over the right sides of the purse so that the raw edges meet at the top of purse. Stitch top of purse so that bead trim is encased between purse lining and right side of purse (figure H). Insert the lining into the purse.

    13. Cut black cord to desired length. Tack each end of cording to top sides of purse.

    14. Embellish front of purse by hand-sewing glass beads to accent stamped, stenciled design.
