The Carol Duvall Show camera crew hit the road to watch as Navaho artisan Christine Yazzie makes perfectly replicated hogans, traditional Navaho homes, in miniature. Andrea Wagner, a young Navajo girl, describes the hogan as an eight-sided structure with a door that faces the rising sun built to bind home and environment together. Wagner's family hogan was built by her grandmother. These dome-shaped, traditional homes are now used primarily for ceremonies, parties and family gatherings instead of full-time dwellings. The miniature hogans made by Yazzie feature tiny details that bring life to the inside of the structure including a lady weaving a rug and a baby on a cradleboard.
