    Materials

garnet Delta Gel Candle tubs #04 107 2400
crystal clear & emerald Delta Gel Candles project packs
    Delta Gel Candles 6" wicks #04 303 0259
Delta Gel Candles pearl powder #04 322 0259
    nonstick sauce pan
    bamboo skewer or long toothpick
    scissors
    glass plate
    martini glass
    metal or nonstick plastic spoon
    paper towels
    assorted black beads

Note: Read all safety information, package instructions and the tips below before you begin.

    1. Cut garnet gel into 2-inch chunks and melt on low in nonstick pan.

    2. Dip black beads on a bamboo skewer into the melted gel one at a time and place the beads on the inside of the glass toward the bottom (figure A). Dipping the bead in the melted gel will help 'glue' the bead to the glass.

    3. Fill the bottom two-thirds of the martini glass with melted gel (figure B). Let cool.

    4. Melt clear gel in pan. Add about a teaspoon of the pearl powder to the gel and stir. Pour a thin later onto the cooled garnet gel to create the second layer (figure C). Let cool.

    5. Melt the emerald gel and pour over clear, filling the remainder of the glass. Let cool.

    6. When the candle has thoroughly cooled, carefully remove it from the glass and place on glass plate.

    7. Carefully push the wick from the bottom of the candle up through the center, or make a hole for the wick first with a skewer pushed from the bottom (figure D).

    8. Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch.

    Tips:

    - The container you select must be able to withstand a pour of hot candle gel.
    - Do not microwave--the gel needs a slow, even heat for melting.
    - If gel beings to smoke, remove from heat immediately.
    - Pour melted gel slowly from the pan to the container to prevent
    bubbles.
    - Never leave melting gel unattended.
    - Use metal or heat-resistant plastic spoons only; wood spoons cause bubbles in the gel.
    - Gel can be re-melted, and cooled gel can be returned to its container for reuse.
    - Any drips or spills can be peeled off when gel is cooled and reused.
    - Most things can embedded in gel, but do not add things that will burn or melt.
