Gunsmithing student Tim Mullin gets a request to craft a custom rifle. With the help of two gunsmith instructors at Colorado School of Trades, he modifies the gun's metal parts on a machine lathe. After customizing and testing the barrel and action, he mills and hand carves the stock from several types of woods. Tim finishes the stock with sanding and the time consuming technique of hand checkering. Upon delivering the completed rifle, he thrills his customer and his instructors.
