In this episode, host Maureen Gilmer addresses a big problem with the entry to this little cottage...it's dull and lifeless! To remedy the problem, she removes the existing overgrown shrubs along the base of the home's exterior and replaces them with low-maintenance grasses.
Next, she replants the area (referred to as the "foundation planter") with a variety of soft grasses and fills the area opposite the planter with more leafy beauties to create
a sense of enclosure. For vertical interest, she dresses the support posts with flowering
vines. When she's finshed, both sides of the entry walkway mirror one other with tall
grasses and prairie-inspired flowers for a truly welcoming effect.
