In this episode of DIY's
Weekend Mechanic, host Bruce Bonebrake diagnoses the problems of a car with a hesitation problem. After a quick overview of carburetors and port fuel injectors, Bruce performs a few tests to pinpoint the source of the problem, and diagnoses it as a faulty fuel injector. A cleaning kit is used to remove residue from the injectors, but one has to be replaced entirely. The importance of preventive maintenance -- such as replacing air and fuel filters -- is also discussed.
