    Tips:

    • Run your drill through the center of a plastic food container lid before you drill into a ceiling and the lid will help you keep dust under control.

    • Garden lattice attached to your ceiling can add a dramatic 3-D effect while hiding many blemishes.

    • Question: How high is the ceiling in the White House Oval Office?

      A. 9'
      B. 12' 6"
      C. 18' 6"
      D. 23'

Answer: The ceiling in the Oval Office measures 18' 6" at its highest point.

    • If you need to make a funnel quickly, just cut the corner off an envelope and pour your heart out.

    • When washing clothes, use cool water with a cold-water detergent. It works just as well for all but the dirtiest items while cutting energy costs by a third.

    • Apply a penetrating sealer that includes tung oil to your brick or stone fireplace and it will clean up easily with soap and water.
