    Figure B

You can use decorative molding to dress up a plain flat door.

    Materials:

    Miter saw
    Molding
    Measuring tape
    Hammer
    Finish nails
    Safety glasses

    1. Measure the panels on a door of the same height and width as the door you want to decorate.
    2. Use a framing square to transfer the measurements to the plain door (figure A).
    3. Use a miter saw to cut pieces of molding (screen-door molding works well) to fit the panels.
    4. Attach the molding with wood glue and nails. The molding may appear to be warped at first, but it's very flexible and will readily straighten out when nailed in place.

Note: An electric nailer makes the job go much more quickly (figure B).
