    Steps:

    1. Whittle the top portion of the piece down to about 1/8 of an inch thick, making sure to keep the tail piece of the branch behind the shape of the head.
    2. Cut the legs on the end opposite the head, whittling away from the body.
    3. Continue to whittle down both sides so they're equal to about 1/8 of an inch thick.
    4. Pretend the V of the tail piece is an access ramp on a major highway: cross over the "intersection" and that point is where you create the division between the legs.
    5. Cut both sides so the legs will be equal thickness.
    6. Remove all the bark from the branch except the "vest" on the body.
